Feodora and her mother live in the snowbound woods of Russia, in a house full of food and fireplaces. Ten minutes away, in a ruined chapel, lives a pack of wolves. Feodora’s mother is a wolf wilder, and Feo is a wolf wilder in training. A wolf wilder is the opposite of an animal tamer: it is a person who teaches tamed animals to fend for themselves, and to fight and to run, and to be wary of humans.
When the murderous hostility of the Russian Army threatens her very existence, Feo is left with no option but to go on the run. What follows is a story of revolution and adventure, about standing up for the things you love and fighting back. And, of course, wolves.

The Wolf Wilder é uma bela história sobre a perigosa aventura de uma garota através da traiçoeira e nevada Rússia para salvar sua mãe. 

Feodora, chamada Feo, protagonista dessa história vive com sua mãe em uma pequena cabana na floresta. Um dia, alguns dos soldados do czar aparecem em sua cabine e o mundo de Feo muda para sempre. Sua mãe é atacada e capturada pelo exército russo porque se recusou a dar o que eles queriam. Além de terem levado sua mãe eles ainda queimaram sua casa, tudo isso sob ordens do diabólico general Mikhail Rakov.

A mãe de Feodora é um "lobo mais selvagem" e Feo é um "lobo mais selvagem"(tradução literal) em treinamento. Um lobo selvagem ensina os animais domados a se defenderem, a lutar e a correr e a ter cuidado com os humanos. Lobos são frequentemente enviados de volta à vida selvagem por donos ricos que se aborreceram - ou têm medo - de seus amuletos de boa sorte.

Feo, desesperada para salvar sua mãe do tirano e cruel General Rakov, encontra um improvável amigo, chamado Llya, e junto com seus lobos, inicia uma revolução. Ao adentrar a floresta a jovem começa uma jornada que mudará sua vida.

 Feo é uma personagem resiliente e determinada, foi com certeza uma grande alegria ter contato com ela, me senti muito inspirada por sua bravura! O começo foi muito emocionante! Eu adorei como a história se desenrolou pelo cenário russo, nunca li nada ambientado nesse pais e adorei, principalmente a cultura apresentada. A forma como a autora nos apresenta o que é um “Wolf Wilder” também aguça demais a curiosidade sobre o desenrolar da história.

Essa é uma fantasia para crianças portanto nada de por muita lógica nas coisas. Essa obra deve ser apreciada em sua simplicidade. Amo histórias sobre lobos e essa foi uma aventura incrível. Recomendo!

Review:

The Wolf Wilder is a beautiful story about the perilous adventure of a girl through the treacherous and snowy Russia to save her mother. 

Feodora, named Feo, protagonist of this story lives with his mother in a small cabin in the forest.  One day some of the Tsar's soldiers appear in their cabin and the world of Feo changes forever. His mother is attacked and captured by the Russian army because he refused to give them what they wanted. Besides having taken their mother they still burned their house, all this under orders of the devilish general Mikhail Rakov.

Feodora's mother is a wilder wolf and Feo is a wilder wolf in training. A wild wolf teaches the tamed animals to defend themselves, to fight and to run and to be careful of humans. Wolves are often sent back to the wild by wealthy owners who have bored-or are afraid-of their good luck amulets. 

Feo, desperate to save her mother from the tyrannical and ruthless General Rakov, she meets an unexpected friend named Llya and, along with her wolves, initiates a revolution. When entering the forest the young begins a journey that will change her life. 

Feodora is a resilient and determined character, it was certainly a great joy to have contact with her, I felt very inspired by her bravery! The beginning was very exciting! I loved how the story unfolded on the Russian scene, I never read anything set in this country and I loved, especially the culture presented.

 The way the author presents us what is a "Wolf Wilder" also sharpens the curiosity about the unfolding of the story. This is a fantasy for children so there is nothing logical in things. This work should be appreciated in its simplicity. I love stories about wolves and this was an incredible adventure. I recommend!
